I called to arrange an estimate and when we decided to go with another roofing company and cancel the estimate, the contractor got very upset with me. He was very unprofessional and disrespectful. I am happy I did not choose him as my contractor.

Same story as the others here. Met with him one morning and he showed me the weather news clippings and told me of homes he did in the area as me. Promised that he would get the quote to me in a couple of days. It is now 7 months later and I am still waiting. Needless to say the roof was done by another company and I was very happy. He probably does a good job but obviously can not schedule work more than one job out or manage all of the other tasks (like quotes) one would expect from a company.

For some reason my previous review has been taken down by Google - perhaps Jim didn't like seeing a negative review even though there was nothing inappropriate. I had the same experience as Jeff - Jim went on and on about his years in the business and showed an outdated "portfolio" of previous projects from decades ago. Showed me a photo with him posing with Patriots cheerleaders (very professional) and an old newspaper article about him that was more like an advertisement probably written by a friend at the paper. Was not at least impressed by his whole song and dance sales pitch. He told me I needed a rubber roof for a low pitch portion of my roof I wanted to replace but I was fairly sure I could just re-shingle it according to the building code. I didn’t contradict him to his face but rather went and looked in the code after he left and confirmed what I had thought. I emailed Jim telling him we could use shingles per the code and to please give me two quotes for both. Never heard back from him again. He couldn’t let some young architect point out that he was wrong. And even went on to talk bad about architects even though I told him I was one. Architects are not all knowing – neither are contractors. Both need to work together - professionally. My experience with him was far from professional.
