Thank you for the wonderful job you did on our home in Trenton replacing the fascia that was damaged in a wind storm. Communication with Corey was excellent and once the weather cooperated the job was completed quickly and for a fantastic price.

We had Barr’s Roofing complete our roof, skylights and eaves in 2017. This particular company experience, after dealing with dozens of experienced/professional contractors over the years (both in my business and personal worlds), has been nothing short of a nightmare. We paid a deposit for our 10k roof/skylights quote in August 2017, and waited until November 2017 for the work to start (REMAINDER OF BALANCE PAID IN FULL, 1 WEEK AFTER THE WORK WAS COMPLETED... OWNER LIKES TO LIE ABOUT THIS). The three month waiting time, was with almost zero communication, except one rude email… when I politely asked for an update (start of the job was promised within six weeks). The owner, Corey Barr, is completely devoid of customer service skills, and is one of the most aggressive, and unprofessional owners that I’ve ever met... and I have been a General Manager for large businesses for 20+ years. The same weekend the roof was completed, it rained. Two separate roof leaks spilled water inside our house, creating substantial damage (walls and floors needed to be ripped apart). Although Corey was very unfriendly and aggressive, he seemed to deal with the issues quickly (except for the damage created internally, due to the roof), and we made payment in full, the following week. Despite the warning signs, we commissioned Barr’s to replace our eaves as well. Unfortunately, further issues, due to additional installation kerfuffles… and water pooling around the house, led to basement leaking through a window. Mold buildup, children’s respiratory issues, costly repairs and an overall headache. The communication with Corey has been unbelievable, complete with colourful accusatory emails (calling me a liar, about the internal damage caused by his company's shoddy roof and skylight installation) and additional verbal onslaughts during our phone calls… I am done trying to have a reasonable discussion, with this man. Now, it’s 2019 and the basement flooding issues (due to ineffective eaves) continued throughout the big winter thaw. We just had another roof leak issue (during March Break 2019), beside a skylight, for which I called other companies to inspect. Another $500 spent, due to a shoddy shingling installation around a skylight. Also, additional internal water-damage repairs that will need to be addressed, in our attic. Thankfully, this roofing company took the time to explain the installation errors around the skylight, and hopefully permanently resolve the issue. Save yourself the headache, heartache and financial-ache of dealing with this unprofessional company! UPDATE... based on owner's response.... The 10k of roofing and skylights, was completely paid in full. New roof, new skylights, and several issues resulting from the installation of both... many leaks and internal damage, as a result. Another paid repair in March 2019 (from a different roofing company), due to continuing issues, thanks to Barr's inferior work. All installation-issue proof and completed payments are thoroughly documented. The eaves payment portion is still in dispute, due to continuing issues from the moment they were installed. Basement leak problem is one resulting issue, where it was torn up in the last few months. All documented, including pictures and confirmed in writing from other contractors. See you in court! 😊

I was very impressed with Barr's roofing for replacing our residential roof. We sought out three quotes when we started. Barr's came out the cheapest by quite a bit when comparing the same products. I still trusted them because of their 30 years of service in Newcastle. I contacted them through their website and had a response from Corey very quickly. He was able to provide multiple quotes for the different products I had asked about in a very timely manner, and had multiple local houses with the colour selection that we liked (based on his recommendation) so we could see the actual product in use. Despite the rainy season we've had, the installation came sooner than expected and the job was done completely to full satisfaction. Corey communicated with me regularly via email so I was up to date on schedule and progress. I feel fully confident in recommending Barr's Roofing to anyone who is looking for quality job, with a quality product at a reasonable price.
