HORRIBLE – the worst contractor experience!!!! The first clue should have been that there was not even 1 single review of this business. 0 reviews on a business that has been listed on Colorado Secretary of State since August of 2009, and supposedly a roofer for 35 years. However, the insurance company’s local agency recommended this company, so we assumed they were good. However, shortly after the insurance agency recommended Rex Desso they received numerous complaints and no longer recommend this company. Here is our experience with Rex Desso and Affordable RoofMasters: - It took almost 3 months (88 days) to complete the roof and pass JeffCo inspection (it failed the 1st inspection on 10/29/2018) – roof started on 9/4/2018 – passed final inspection on 11/30/2018 (1 day after the roofer fixed the violations). - Over 1 month (43 days) for Rex Desso to send in all the paperwork to our insurance company – job completed/final inspection on 11/30/2018 – final paperwork sent to the insurance company on 1/11/2019. - Had to constantly ask Rex Desso to do his job – complete the work and send in paperwork. - Rex Desso tried to blame the gutter company on a roof leak that had nothing to do the gutters (adding on a downspout did nothing to stop the leak). After his excuses ran out along with his attempt to seal the leak with 3 tubes of silicon caulk, he had to rip off a section of the roof. Turns out his crew did not do a complete tear-off in one section which had multiple layers – it was like pealing back an onion. - Rex Desso DEMANDED full payment 10 after sending in the final paperwork to the insurance co but only 6 days after the insurance company cut the check, and before any money/check was received by us AND while we had an active leak that was not fixed. - The roofing crew used OUR personal dumpster to dump old roofing materials along with cases of empty beer cans & bottles along numerous tequila bottles. - Rex Desso tried to SCAM our insurance company. The insurance company called to tell us they denied 2 claims he sent in: 1) for high profile ridge vents (which we never had, didn’t get installed, nor did we want them) and 2) 20% over the total for using subcontractors (NO subcontractors were used by Rex Desso – only workers who were employed by his company). - His roofing crew kept pressuring us to install new gutters and they would put them up the next day. Luckily, we went on the roof and identified most of the facia boards had dry rot which needed to be replace before gutters could be installed on them (unless we wanted the gutter to fall off). - Also they left 100's of nails on the roof, driveway and ground. Even one of the items on the failed JeffCo inspection was to "clean-up motor used for counter flashing on chimney".
