The other 1 star reviews, trust them. Unfortunately I had to use this company because my roof was under warranty and I was not paying for another company to do the work they did wrong upon installation. The management is HIGHLY unprofessional. Called every day for 2 weeks trying to get this company out to fix the issues. Even sent some emails. Once they finally decided to set a date, the day came and they TEXTED me saying their men were at a party probably drunk and would come by the next day. You'll get absolutely no where for a long time with this guy.

The rating is 4.5 stars - perfect scores require absolutely no issues with the contract. Note: I write construction contracts for a living. With that said CRC was referred by a friend that is a property manager - they were completely satisfied with CRC's work. I looked at the negative ratings on here and was concerned about past performance. Based on referral however, I decided to meet with Mr. Arpin for a complete roof replacement quote. When I asked him about the negative ratings on Google, he explained that he had got in over his head with hurricane Irma repair contracts and just couldn't be as responsive as he would have liked because his crews were saturated with work. I know the struggles with the hurricanes because I was having the same issues with my commercial contractors all fighting to retain scarce labor resources in this area after Matthew and Irma. I wrote a contract with CRC using both Arpin's form and my own specification addendum which contained demo of gutters, specific roof deck repair, valley waterproofing, thicker underlayment, and higher nail counts per shingle requirements. Mr. Arpin had no problems with signing on to my additional requirements. His price wasn't the cheapest or the highest - midrange is usually where a contract should come in for price. After the contract was signed with performance to begin in 2 weeks, it actually started 5 days late on the account of rain delays on projects ahead of mine. The expected duration was 3-4 days, it took 5 but I was ok with that because too many roofers working on the same roof can lead to variations in quality. Mr. Arpin checked on the job daily, but the actual person in charge on the site was the lead roofer. I raised three concerns with the lead roofer and Mr. Arpin during performance, their response was immediate and courteous to address my concerns. All the labor was American citizens by the way. I was impressed that end of every work day clean up was very good considering the roofers had already put in a full day of hard work. I would recommend CRC for additional roofing contracts as they have proven to me that they are competent and reliable.

This company put a new roof on our house 3 years ago. The whole job took 5 months since Mr. Arpin constantly lied, didn't show up when he said he would, and never returned phone calls or emails. A few months after the job was finally finished, our skylight began to leak. We had to put pots down in the hallway and it took him 3 weeks to come and fix it. Allegedly. Now we find out that our roof is leaking in 3 rooms, and if you look, you can see daylight. This person is unethical and immoral and should be arrested, prosecuted and have his license revoked. It is costing us $2K to have his shoddy work repaired. We have been conned. Don't let him do it to you.

I had used Alan for many years to do roof repairs and replacements while I was a property manager. Recently,I had him replace our storm damaged roof. They showed up bright and early and worked all day for 2 days. Their clean up was excellent and workers were respectful and conscious of safety concerns for my grandkids. Price was better than two other local contractors. Would use again!!

We met with Allen Arpen the owner of Custom Roofing on April 14, 2018 and signed a contract to have a roof replaced. When we talked through email he stated he should be able to start our job as early as April 18th, but would definitely be able to have the work done by April 27th, 2018 no problem. Allen required half up front of $2964.00 since the job was starting so soon to go ahead and get supplies. We attempted to call him on April 28th and only got voicemail, and so we emailed him on April 30th when the roof was not completed and his reply was there were delays, but we were the next house to be done. We emailed multiple times between May 1st and 15th, and he finally responded back to say yet again, delays and we are next on the list. This continued until June 22nd when we emailed him to inform him that since it was 62 days and no work had been started we wanted our money back. At this point we were suddenly number 28 on a waiting list and he was only doing us a favor by trying to get to us before his other customers. This supposed waiting list was never mentioned in the previous 62 days of waiting. Mr. Arpen is refusing to return our money to us and provided no services to us at all. We are currently out $2964 and he will not return calls or our money. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND HIM OR HIS COMPANY TO ANYONE!! If I could give him zero stars I would. UPDATE: After involving police and filing charges of fraud on June 26th our entire deposit was finally returned on August 9th.
