Last October, my husband and I hired them to build a deck in our back yard. It was a huge, 10k project. It took longer than expected but my yard is a big slope and the end product was nice. Our problem now, however, is that the wood used for the project was obviously substandard. There are several areas that are splitting in the support boards as well as the railings. The deck is only six months old! They repaired some of the splintered wood but it hasn't lasted and it turns white every time it rains. This is not normal wear and tear. We contacted them to ask them to come out and check it out. This was several weeks ago and no ody has shown up. My husband contacted them again this morning and was offered a price estimate for repairs. Repairs?!? I would work with a more reputable company that guarantees their work. I am afraid to see what the deck will look like another six months down the road. We are going to have the city come out and reinspect it as there are more affected areas than pictured and I am concerned about the integrity of the support. Updated to add: It is far more than one 2x10 that is affected. If that were the case I wouldn't have written this review. If you would come check it out like you said you would three weeks ago you would know that. Also, you don't seal a brand new deck. You let it sit for at least one season first. It is only six months old and the leaves and pollen are done falling now so we will have it sealed. Also, it is NOT just one splintered area. He NEVER came to reassess the deck so I am not sure how he can claim that there is only one trouble area involved. I could put dozens of photos on here of trouble areas where stairs are split at the nail holes. Nearly every single support board and post have splits and splintered areas.
Called Weather Shielders about a roof estimate and scheduled an appointment. Weather Shielders charges for doing an estimate, and I was prepared to pay for the estimate; however, the appointment date came and Weather Shielders did not call or show up at my house. I would not recommend doing business with a company who cannot be bothered to call you back to reschedule you for a service that they expect you to pay for.
Highly recommend this company. Our experience was one of excellent customer service, reasonably priced and professionalism.
Called them about a roof leak because they appear to have mostly great reviews. I was told they could come out if there was a break in the weather. No problem, I could understand that because the rain had been off and on for a few days. I ended up setting up an appointment for them to come out a few days later after the weather cleared up. They gathered all my information and told me to expect them that morning. The morning of comes and no one calls or shows up. I called them to see what the hold up was and talked to a different person. I explain the situation above and the only thing I can gather is that no one was actually scheduled to come out since I wasn't given any real explanation. I was then told they would definitely have someone out, that they would be calling me back shortly, and that they would "squeeze me in." None of which happened. I called them a few hours later. No one picked up and no one called me back after I left a message. Judging by other reviews, I'm sure they do a good job when they show up, but I can only go by my experience.
This company is very reasonable priced. They worked hard through the weekend to finish my roof before storms hit. I am very please with the work and would recommend this company for repairs.
