BUYER BEWARE. A lady knocked on my door to tell me a hale storm was in my area and i may qualify to get damage repaired through my insurance. i agreed to go along with this person and through the motions into getting my roof repaired. She directed me to a contractor and after he inspected my roof, he found no significant damage. The lady then contacted another contractor and he did found damage and took pictures of dents and some of the roofing material damaged. He gave me this form to fill out stated a Public Adjuster terms and conditions to utilizing his services. and that i must give him 30% for using him and his contractor. After a month of no calls, no shows the person for Advance Exterior Group, INC. Mr Jose Flores contacted me inquiring about a first payment from my insurance company, mind you, i haven't signed any other contact about material, labor, bonds, or permits for the project. when i did receive a check it was to me and not the company. Mr Flores stated that its OK just endorse the check and he'll get everything he needs to start on fixing my roof. Against my gut feeling, i gave him the check in the morning and that same afternoon i received a text message from him stating that his wife is trying to deposit the check into her account and that the bank needs to talk to me to tell them i gave them the check. Chase bank called me an told me that the check was to be deposited into his wife's personal bank account and not to the company account. RED FLAG. when i called the Public Adjuster to inquire who is the contractor for my project (because the Public Adjusters contract showed another contractors name) and to find out whats going on, he wasn't there and i was told that i will receive a call back. that was a week ago. I did receive a call from Mr Flores, to paraphrase, if i had a problem about material and contracts i should've said something then, but no Mr. that is not how this works. I still haven't had a call back from the Public Adjuster. There are too many inconsistencies with how the Public Adjuster and the contractor conducts business. The lack there of communication, presentation is not to par with product presentation, filling out a completed contract with all the who what wheres, etc. and with the combination of a partially filled contract and the contractor trying to deposit a check into a personal account made me very concern on who I'm conducting business with. I have not talked to the Public Adjuster face to face or by phone. attached is a copy of the Public Adjusters contract that was given to me, before i filled it out. Included a picture of the contractor that was suppose to do the project with. Notice the contractors name on the contract is not the company that i was talking to. With that being said my concern is if the roof just so happen to fail or needs to be looked at with the warranty and all, and i call one company and they say "well i didn't do it," am i screwed?
