The owner Matt, did a roof on my home in 2012. I bought this home in May 2017. All was well for a couple of months. Then one day I noticed a wet spot on my ceiling in the kitchen, so I went into the attic to investigate on a rainy day to see what the issue was. The septic vent pipe was snapped and water was going in the pipe, dripping on the insulation and then onto the Sheetrock causing the stains. I called Five Star and left a voicemail, not hearing back within a few weeks I proceeded to call a plumber to repipe the vent pipe and thought to issue was resolved. Sure enough, after the plumber did the work, Matt, the owner of Five Star contacted me (I missed the call...he left a lengthy voicemail) apologizing for his delay due to a family issue, which I can respect. I never called back because I thought the leak was over and was focusing on new homeowner repairs painting etc. Then over 3 months later came the storm with heavy rain and wind on 3/2/18 happened...not only did the wet spot reappear, but it grew 20x in size. I called Matt and left a voicemail, he called me back within the hour and we spoke for the first time. I explained the entire story. He said it was too bad that he didn't know the previous owners were selling the house because he could have worked out a transferable warranty but it's too late. On his website it says have peace of mind because all his roofs come with a lifetime warranty. Either way, he said to send him via text my information and he would try and come by my house to look at the situation later that day. That day came and went, I gave him a few day and then sent him a follow up text, still no response, then a week or so later, I called and left a voicemail, and still haven't heard a peep. It's now over 3 weeks later since I reached out and he still hasn't came by or returned my texts/phone calls. His company is literally less than a mile from my house. He said he remembers doing the roof because his child was being born and he had to leave the job to go to the hospital to see his child being born so he said the job has good memories. All I'm trying to do is have the roofer back to repair a mistake. Avoiding me is unprofessional and I've tried to get this issue resolved. I don't enjoy bashing people online with negative reviews, but feel as though the public should be aware of my situation with this roofer. Hopefully this negative review can be removed if the roofer has the character and proper morals to fix this and stand by his work. Otherwise best of luck because you lost me as a future customer and I will make sure I never recommend this company to anyone. Sooner or later your actions will catch up to you. Maybe the word "Discount" in the company name should stick. That would have been a red flag in my book if I was looking for quality work, especially something as critical as a roof.
