I bought a 1957 ranch and needed to convert a small deck and porch to a large deck mudroom and laundry room . Harvey remodeling did a wonderful job because there contractor Ben made sure it was done right and on time. Very patient , understanding and he attended to every detail. If you need remodeling you can't do better than Harvey remodeling.
This was our first experience going through a major renovation. Due to our schedules we needed this project to be well-organized and streamlined. From the very beginning the people at Harvey made us feel confident and comfortable about the process. Their communication, follow-up and customer service was/is excellent. We felt like we were working partners from the very beginning. We highly recommend them.
Very professional, dealt with things when they came up. Stuck very close to the budget, and delivered as promised - very little extra work was needed on our end. Never felt like we had been ignored or forgotten. Super clean.
Harvey was easy to work with- communication with our project designer early on was great, very friendly. We had well-thought out timelines that were updated as needed. All of the onsite crew were kind, hard-working, and everyone exchanged phone numbers for easy contact as questions arose. There were a few minor ups and downs as there are in any project but Harvey was always quick to reply. Overall- the project only went a few thousand over budget and a few weeks over the timeline. The reasons for both were necessary and unforeseeable so it was expected.
We hired Harvey Remodeling to redo our kitchen. The experience was bad from beginning to end. The designer (who no longer works there), often forgot small details and in the end I was left keeping track of many of decisions that were made. Some of the decisions weren't brought to my attention until after the contract was signed and we were told that we would have to pay extra for it. The schedule for the project had things in it that had absolutely no bearing on our project. When we challenged them about it, we were given completely bogus excuses on why that was included. The destruction of the kitchen went smoothly, but the construction didn't. In the contract they were scheduled to start 2 weeks after the permit. In reality they started 3 weeks after the permit (small non material breach of contract, breach #1). We were informed that we had a person dedicated to our job. However there were several days that he could have patched the walls or done other work and he was nowhere to be found. Sometimes he would only show up for an hour for the day and then leave to go work on another job. The cabinets were delayed by three quarters of a week (we were told that a truck had broken down). When we complained we were told that we were two weeks ahead of schedule, and if it did get close to the contract finish they would put extra men on the project to make sure that it would be complete on time. We had to constantly hound them about patching the walls which there were clearly holes and other issues (see pictures). We had to patch a gap in the duct work ourselves. The crown molding was completely misaligned (not at a corner) (again see pictures of what they tried to foist on us). It wasn't until the third visit that it was finally fixed. There was one spot that one of the cuts for the kick-board was jagged and looked absolutely awful and we had to hound them to fix it (see picture). We ended up contacting Better Business Bureau because they were trying to get more money to fix the floor (something that was written in the contract, breach #2). They ended up going a week over when the contract was supposed to be substantially complete (breach #3). This was after repeatedly reassuring us that they would finish on time and that they would throw extra men on the project (which never happened). The only reason why they have two stars is because the kitchen came out beautiful and it really has improved working in the kitchen. It wasn't worth the hassle, the being nickeled and dimed, and some of the shoddy work that was done and had to be redone.
