Horrible experience... we came up to our vacation house from the other side of Raleigh because we had an appointment. He never showed, never called.. I called once, my wife called twice ... upon that second time he finally answered and stated he was not coming because it was raining, which we assumed that, but it's only good etiquette and customer service to call and let your prospective customer know. He then stated he would try and come between 3-4pm well that passed too with no call saying he wasn't coming. It was very shady, the following day he called and stated someone had just called him from our vacation house number in which we didnt. We were actually talking to another roofer at that moment (WHO CAME OUT IN THE POURING RAIN) to meet our needs considering we had to get back home, and needed quotes while we were there. We also had another roofer who was coming as well! That company was nice enough to call and say he couldn't come because his driveway washed out (due to rain). It was reassuring to see him call and know customer service was still important to some businesses. While I cant comment on his workmanship, I can comment on customer service and this company lacks it. Hopefully workmanship makes up for it, but then again you need both to run a business properly. I should've read the reviews on here and other websites including the better business bureau before scheduling.

I had a scheduled appointment for this roofer and I even left two messages before the appointment. State Roofing never returned my calls nor did they show up on the scheduled day and time! I was only missing a couple of shingles. Apparently they don’t care about the integrity of their business. Don’t waste your time contacting them! If there was a way to give zero stars, I would!

Scott and the crew with State Roofing were wonderful!!!! While out of town the end section of my roof had gotten caught by the wind and torn off. I spoke with Scott on Monday morning, he came by within a couple of hours and had the work completed within four days (had to order matching tin). I also needed flashing for my chimney (or so I thought). When they got on the roof it turns out it did not need flashing, just sealant, and he was honest and deducted it from the original quote. I can wholeheartedly recommend State Roofing, they were courteous, professional, and efficient, Joy M Cothran

Our chimney was leaking like a sieve. I had another roofer and chimney company look at it in previous months for a fix, and they didn’t properly diagnose it. I called these guys and they came out the same day to look at it and then returned the next dry day to seal it. We’ve had pretty heavy rainfall the past day and no leaks!! Dry as a bone. I’m very pleased and highly recommend them. Plus they stand behind their labor for 3 years.

I wish I could give Scott a better review as he is a nice person but we did not experience the quality of workmanship his website shows. Scott replaced leaky flashing on four chimneys, but he left loose tiles, old tar and nails all over the roof, and our chimney inspector said it was one of the worst flashing repairs he had ever seen in 25 years. We don’t have evidence of leakage so yes, Scott has fixed the problem but I was expecting a more professional job.
