From my first call to the company to the last nail driven into my roof, professionalism all the way. We needed a new roof so I had four different roofing companies come out and give me a bid. Steve's company was not the lowest bid but was in the ball park with 3 of the other contractors. I mention that he was not the lowest as it's important to understand that it is not always the best move to go with the lowest bid. In Steve's case, he was always professional. He handled all my questions well, his office staff was friendly and knowledgeable. I was impressed by how he made an effort to educate me on why he went with a certain product as opposed to another product - all in all, the presale end of our business was handled much better than the other contractors so I went with Steve. His crew arrived on time, everyday. They worked hard and cleaned up the job-site at the end of the day. On the last day of the job, I was impressed on how all of the crew actually got down on their knees to clean up the flower bed in front of our house, as they looked for loose nails and debris - a class act! I have no reservations at all in recommending Stephen Curley Roofing to my friends and neighbors. In fact I've already done so in two cases.

I hired Stephen to do the roof on my house a few years ago, so when I needed a roof on my garage I didn't hesitate to call him. My first experience with him was fine, but this last experience was horrible. I echo the sentiments of others here and on Yelp about his demeanor: he is rude, hostile, aggressive and highly unprofessional. (As is some of this office staff.) When I expressed to him my dissatisfaction with the gutters (they slope upward, toward the roof, forming a slight V at the roof edge) he got upset with me, told me they were "functional," that it was "only a garage," told me that if it were him, he would not re-do the work, and finally blamed me because I was at home during the work and should have said something to his crew. (I DID say something once the gutters had been put on, but his crew left before the gutter man put on the gutters and no one came out to inspect the finished job.) We had two tense phone conversations, and in the last one he kept interrupting me to the point where I finally had to ask him to stop interrupting so that I could finish my sentence to which he replied, "You're not a psychiatrist!" and when I asked him again to please stop interrupting me, he said, "this is not a psyche-eval!" At that point I knew I wasn't dealing with someone who could have a calm and rational conversation, so I said nothing else. He testily said he would come out and re-cut the rafters but that I had to tell him THAT night and that he could only come out the next morning because he didn't want this "hanging out there." I quietly told him that I had to go and would call him later to which he replied, "Oh, now I see who I am dealing with." After much contemplation, I decided NOT to have him come back and fix the rafters so that the gutters would lay flush against the roof because I sensed that I could no longer trust him or his crew to re-do the work satisfactorily, nor did I believe that I could communicate calmly and rationally with him. There are roofing companies that treat their clients with respect, that listen to them and work to resolve issues in a responsible, reasonable and professional manner. My recommendation would be to search for other roofing professionals before hiring this company.

0 stars would be more appropriate. He tried to charge us an additional $1000 because he said he needed an additional dumpster for our job. When I told him his work crew filled most of the dumpster with garbage from other jobs into our dumpster- he came up with other reasons he wanted to charge us more and kept telling us how much of a "favor " he was doing for us by being our roof contractor. .. He was unprofessional, belittling and rude. Big Attitude-Little Caesar.

DISHONEST AND OVERALL FRAUDULENT!!! This is a joke of a company and I do not understand how they are still in business. My issue is with the ownership and their office staff in particular. My three bedroom house was in need of a roof repair. Prior to commencing the work, I did my due diligence and received three formal bids. I decided to use them because of price and their commitment to finish the job in approximately two weeks (again small house). Prior to commencing they received my credit card information for material and initial costs (Understandable). After just the first few days I received another charge without any notice. After calling their office I get the run around and no one knows why or what the extra charge was for. Then after a week of them working, I get an invoice for up-charges that were not on the initial scope of the work. Long story short, don't make the same mistake I did. You will end up with unnecessary headaches, paying more and have unfinished roof within the time frame that was promised. Please do us a favor and make an effort to care about others!! The owner is arrogant and unprofessional -he spoke to me like I were lesser of soa ial status then him and made comments about our lifestyle which was unwarranted and petty. Please do not make the same mistake I did. Find a different company to do your roofing needs. I plan to seek litigation and taking this company to small claims court.

My experience with Stephen Curley was horrific! He required full payment for a repair in advance. I found him to be rude and he put me on a speaker phone and said I had called him a liar about his approx. time to do the job.It took me three months and I called in to stay that I wanted my money back and I find another company they said “oh your name is on the list for Friday”. When the crew left the sight the3 foreman wrote on the receipt “needs full roof replacement.” This triggered my insurance co. to demand a new full roof replacement. It was impossible to find any other company that would say if there was anymore life in that roof.They should have just told me as the owner and standby his repair.I would strongly discourage anyone Considering this company.
