BUYER BEWARE - If they mess up, they will blame it on you, and not take responsibility! We contracted Titan to repair our roof after hail damage. Titan recommended switching out our old style ‘box vents’ to new style ‘ridge vents’, we took their advice. In the process, Titan disconnected our shower vents from the ‘box vents’, and simply dropped the shower vent hoses (2) into the attic. This caused our showers to vent steam into our attic. This resulted in black mold and water damage. When I called Titan out on it, they blamed me by saying ‘Homeowner never specifically contracted Titan to upgrade the shower vent’. I was taken aback by this response, and tried to rebut that by saying ‘I had never been on my roof, I had no idea the shower vents even needed upgrading’. But Titan felt that was my problem, implying I was responsible to climb onto my roof and know what needed fixing prior to them doing the same. I then tried to argue they had an obligation to warn me that the vents needed upgrading. At the very least, I thought they had an obligation to tell me they were going to drop the vents into my attic. Titan disagreed, said they had no responsibility to warn me they dropped the shower vents into the attic. Titan then responded by saying 'the shower vents did not meet current code, so Titan is not responsible for the vents’. Titan is actually mistaken here, verified by Omaha Code Enforcement office: When the house was built, the shower vents were built to meet code AT THAT TIME. Code at that time required shower vents to terminate within 10” of a ‘box vent’, which they did. Code then changed a number of years ago, requiring a different style of shower vent. This change only applied to new construction, not retroactive. True, while the shower vents were not using current code, they in fact were not required to. Titan’s argument is without merit. Titan’s work on the roof, actually caused the codes to become enforceable. The act of Titan doing work on the roof, required the vents to change, but the simple fact is, the vents did meet code when they were installed. Titan said if I tried to file a claim, they would fight it, saying Titan wasn’t responsible for code violations. A meritless defense, because they are twisting facts. Now I am stuck with no recourse but to pay several $1,000s in water and mold damage.

Titan delivered an excellent experience beginning to end. They were competitive on their bid and helped us understand how the insurance process worked. They were very responsive and came back multiple times to check on things and correct a couple things that didn’t get done as agreed upon originally. They were always very friendly to deal with as well. We would use them again and also recommend them to friends and family.
