I called Fania roofing recently to fix a spot leak in my roof. They would not schedule an appointment without a $500 deposit and signing a contract which requires you to pay $250 an hour ($125 per worker with two workers paid at minimum) for their work. I later found that “portal to portal service,” which is in the contract, means they actually charge you $250 an hour while they are driving to and from your house. When they arrived on the property they did their work without calling me to discuss what they found. I never received a quote or options for the problem with my roof. When working on the roof they found a small 3x5 inch index card sized area of incorrect type roofing patch had been previously applied to the roof and was coming up. They “fixed” this by applying roofing cement to the area and then leaving. They were there for about an hour, and my apartment is only 20 minutes away from Fania Roofing in google maps - a total time of around 1 hour and 40 minutes. I later received a bill for 2.5 hours of work and travel time, taxes and the cost of glue to a grand total of $709.06 - to essentially re-glue the edges of a 3x5 index card patch on the roof. They then suggested that I could have a quote to correctly repair the area by replacing it with the correct patch. Why they didn’t just do it right away I’m not sure. 15 days later the roof began leaking in the same place again. I contacted the company and did not receive a call back for 3 days - I had to call them again. The owner then called me back and suggested it would need a much larger job which could be thousands of dollars worth of work. He scheduled a time to see the roof, then told me he would get me a proposal. A few weeks later one of his workers stopped by and coated the area with some sealant which stopped the leak for now and I haven’t heard from them since and never received the proposal. Would never use again.

I worked with Fania last year during a busy summer for them. While working with Chad Brandon specifically, I can say he had great Communication and Professionalism before, during, and after the project. I would recommend Fania & Chad to anyone. It was a very smooth project because of his involvement.
