Five Star Improvements installed new roofs on two of my past and present homes and I could not happier with the work, the team's attention to detail, and their professionalism. Thank you very much Five Star for going the extra mile and exceeding our expectations. I would strongly recommend Five Star for anyone seeking a roof installer.

UPDATE below! The biggest frustration with our siding project was time management and communication skills. We signed our contract in June 2018 and were told that the project would start in July of 2018. The start date was repeatedly bumped later throughout the summer (a dry summer). Fast forward to November 2018 the project started and did not finish until the end of January 2019. We had one day that no one showed up due to miscommunications from the management. Our project was halted twice as workers on our project were sent elsewhere. Finally, we sustained water damage in our living room a few days ago as one of the windows was not correctly sealed. We have had numerous large projects completed in our home. Although, we mostly liked the final product, the process was much longer and stressful than it should have been. 07/03/19 Having seen the above google review, the owner of the company reached out to us regarding our siding experience. He looked at our contract and the timeline that I described above. He recognized that this was not an acceptable timeline for his company and wished to make good with us. He offered us a complementary roof tune-up and gutter cleaning. We appreciated that the owner took the time to reach out to us and try to make our experience with his company a better one.

I hired this company in fall of 2017 to tear off existing roof and put on a metal roof. The entire reason I contracted to have this done was because prior roof had not been flashed into the side of my historic cobblestone farmhouse. Resulting in the kitchen roof separating from the building. I made it very clear that this job needed to be handled with care. This building in nearly 200 years old and of a distinct architecture. Within the first few months we started to have leaking. I called Jason and asked to have a crew come out to see what was going on with the roof. The crew didn't know that this job had been completed by their company. The crew literally told me that we had been taken advantage of and the job was one of the worst they had seen. I let them know that this was their companies work. They told me that it had to come completely off and redone. That the roof was not flashed into the side of the cobblestone---- this was the complete reason for me to remove old roof and put the metal roof on the building. Needless to say not only has this not occurred, but we have had many "crews" or workers here. None of them handling the situation and only making it worse. I now have black sealant on my rock windowsills and along the cobblestone. The roof is not flashed into the rock wall. My tongue and groove ceilings are damaged. The exterior stucco wall that was just resurfaced is now cracking and lifting due to water getting behind it from improper flashing. New kitchen cabinets have staining and are damaged. I was finally told by one of the men who came here that this job was subbed out to another company. I would never have agreed to this if I had known. This has been a nightmare. To rub salt into the wound the replacement roofing material is sitting on my lawn for almost a year. Every time I see it I get angry. This was not a big roofing job. This should have been handled properly and removed and redone. Their own workers said as much. Jason has not handled this and has damaged my beautiful building.

I hired Five Star to remodel my attic. They were professional, quickly responded to emails and calls, and flexible with my irregular schedule. The project stayed within the quoted price, which I was pleasantly surprised by (a couple things were a little more complicated than anticipated). However, there were a couple mistakes throughout the project: one mistake was in the framing, which caused problems when hanging drywall. The framer was supposed to come back to fix it, but I never saw him again. The guys working on drywall ended up cutting a piece of drywall to kind of patch over that area, causing the wall and ceiling to meet at a 45 degree angle. It looks a little weird, but I decided not to make an issue of it because it's just the attic and probably not worth the trouble of fixing it. Second, there was a miscommunication that resulted in a baseboard heater being installed that I never asked for. I pointed this out to Five Star, and they quickly apologized and we came to an agreement about the cost of its installation. Overall, I'm pleased with the quality of the work. I think they had some great ideas that have really improved that space. From start to finish, they were professional and seemed to take a lot of pride in their work. I would definitely hire Five Star again for future projects, but for a project of this size especially, I'd err on the side of over-communication.

Five Star did an excellent job on my roof. It was a complete tear off and replacing 2 skylights. Job was complete in a coupe of days and they cleaned up at the end of every day before leaving. Highly recommend this company!
