My experience. Shortly after the big one in El Reno in 2013 I watched my neighbor get a new roof. Great job! Still looks beautiful. I contacted OSR. The crew that did my house consisted of 3 either very sick or hung over guys. They took 2 complete days daylight until dark and I had to help with cleanup or they would have been back. There was a plethora of issues starting with a bent wind turbine, really bent! Nails showing through soffet. All kinds of stuff including crooked lines of shingles. I withheld payment for a while, I did but I was not happy. Since 2013 my roof has had to be repaired 3 times. The last was 2 full squares blew off. Today I have the same guy back fixing more that blew off last week. 2 different roofers have pointed out the absolutely poor job and recommend a new roof. Imagine going back to insurance 5 years later for another 6 grand due to no storms, just poor installations. Steve was a great guy who made excuses for his crew and tried to fix my complaints but in the end, a few years later I am stuck with having to figure out my own way of replacement due to this company's workmanship. Yeah I took almost a year to pay but the justification is right above my head. He ended up only charging for materials but that was 4k. They came around when mother nature hit the neighborhood and I am sorry but I feel like they took advantage. My roof looks terrible and blows off in winds above 30.
I have been a subcontractor/ Carpentier for Steve for over 5 years now. Steve has always done exactly what he said he would do as well as pay me for everything I had done for him. I have worked for several contractors around the OKC metro in the past 12 years, not one of them shows dedication, integrity and respect for their subs like Steve does. Thanks again Steve, looking forward to another 5 years working for you.
Half of my roof had been removed before his workers realized they were at the wrong home. They were supposed to be working on the house one block over. Imagine my surprise when I came home that night to find half my roof was laying in my front yard! Although he left a business card, there was no note or anything to explain what had happened. I contacted the number on the card and he apologized for the mistake and promised he would correct it. At first he was very kind, apologetic, and professional. My roof was replaced and I figured all was well. I was aggravated that his workers left a pallet of shingles, rolls of nails, and a mess in my front yard but I was relieved he had corrected his mistake in a timely manner. A year later I had a leak in my garage and contacted OSRC to take a look at it. He acted as if I was a bother to him and his company. He referred me to a contractor and after several unanswered texts and phone calls I gave up. It has now been over a year and half since the original incident but I still find evidence of the mishap. Just today as I was cleaning out a small corner of my backyard I found 14 rolls of roofing nails in addition to hundreds of screws covered by pieces of old wood I used on a project several years ago. Luckily I do not own any animals or have small children that this could have caused a true hazard. My only regret is not writing about my awful experience sooner.
First, let me say that from the start I felt like Steve was very honest and professional. He explained exactly what would happen, the breakdown of the charges, and how he would contact the insurance company and get everything taken care of. He returned calls, emails, and texts in a timely manner. After the roofing crew left, I still found a dozen or so nails and some little bits of trash in a few of the flower beds, nothing too bad though. What was more annoying was that they left some extra supplies on the lawn for 4-5 days before coming back to pick it up. I had to call and remind them a few times and finally move it off the grass myself. I know it''s a busy time of year for roofers, but come on. Steve apologized for the crew's mistake and got it taken care of. When the gutter guy came out he left one downspout unfinished because he ran out of material. He said he would be back the next day to do it. A week later is when he actually came, and only after I reminded Steve (thankfully I only had to remind him once) that it hadn't happened. Overall, I was happy with the work because it does look good and it cost a little less the insurance payment which was really nice. Steve was friendly and helpful and I enjoyed working with him. Seems like his crew and/or subcontractors were just a little careless on this job.
I love my roof but after everything that has happened i am worried about the workmanship. I really liked Steve and thought i had found a contractor to help me with some other projects on my home. Problem started when his crew parked the trailer to close to my home and caused large ruts in my yard by the foundation, Steve said they would settle, my sons friend (who works in lawn care) came out and told me that is not true. His crew didn't tell me I needed to move my car and lawnmower out of the open garage. My new car and the large screen on my front window was damaged from the tear off deri. He paid for the damage to my car and he took my screen to have it fixed. I paid him before I received the repaired screen. After a month of many texts and calls, with promises to bring the screen that day, I finally received my screen. I also found out that the debri from the roof tear off got into the carburetor of my riding lawnmower and I am having to have it repair, I don't know what that's going to cost.
