I have found that this company is more than willing to honor their warranty. After having a bay window installed at least twelve or more years ago, it developed some issues. They did their best to repair it but eventually decided to replace the entire unit. We absolutely loved the old window, but fully understand that things happen. Working with David Gardner was great. He was very easy to work with and wanted to make it right. We're looking forward to the new window... Excited is more like it !

After running into a rep for the company at a home and garden show, we agreed to have an estimate for a few new windows. We fully expected to send the guy away when he showed up. However after we met with their sales representative Mitch our opinions changed. After a great presentation of the new windows and how they are made and hearing how passionate Mitch was about the product and company we where convinced. Mitch did everything he could to help make our project affordable and make us comfortable with out choices. He never tried to push us into buying anything or pushing us in any direction. He sat and listened to our concerns and desires and worked to provide only what we wanted. He even returned a month later with a roll of paper towels and windex, offering to was our windows. He seemed genuinely disappointed when we politely said he didn't need to. Thats service! The installers came within 2 weeks as the factory pumped out or 16 new windows. Vito and Ivan where amazing. They worked so quickly, kept their working areas AND my house clean and where delightful to be around. They finished the job in two days with only two men. They should get a raise. My process went from half heartedly signing up for an estimate to being blown away with how easy the process was and accommodating Custom was to my needs for the windows and financials. Great company!

The salesman promised that we were get approved for windows. They when we got denied for the windows we did not get our $500. Down payment back. They were so fast to take the money but has not returned my money.

I got a quote for a new front entrance door with two side windows in April of 2018. They sent a (very professional, very good) salesman to my home to show us the catalog and do the whole sales pitch. Custom Built has a LOT of options, ranging from "cheap" to unbelievably expensive. We opted for the "cheap" option which was in the neighborhood of $7000, all told. That was a lot to spend at once, but the salesman assured us: they manufacture single door from scratch and it's built for your home exclusively. We could get it in any color or shade we could dream up, and the warranty on the door lasts as long as the house is still standing. It took a couple months to get everything fabricated (understandable, and we were made aware), and finally the install day came, sometime in July 2018. Our installer was a nice guy who worked quickly, cleaned up afterward and was very professional overall. He noticed that, when installing the door, there was no trim, so the frame just sort of ended against the house and it looked unfinished. He told us to call CB and tell them about it and they'd get it fixed right up. We did. CB sent Steve (who was dealing with our account) out to take a look, and he agreed that it looked terrible and said they'd get it fixed up right away. A few days later, I come home and see that there is indeed a trim on my door, and it's a blinding white color. My door is a dark brown, and my house is beige. It looked terrible. It was finished, but it didn't even come close to matching and it looked ridiculous. I called Steve and told him that we were displeased with the new trim. He came back out the following day and agreed that it looked ridiculous and should have been better color-matched to the rest of the door. After a few months, we finally get a new trim that's a different shade of brown/beige (because they can't actually match any color you ask for, like we were told in the sales pitch). It looks fine. It's not great, it's not ugly, it's fine. Acceptable. Around January/February of 2019, we discovered that the paint on our door was peeling. This seemed odd, as the door is fiberglass, and we were told (during the sales pitch) that paint peeling and chipping would become a thing of the past. Yet still, it peeled. We also noticed that seams where the side windows and door joined were coming apart, there was visible glue around every single pane of glass (6 in total) that makes it look like the glass is sliding off the door, and that several pieces next to the side windows were cracking. Oh, and the windows leak inside of the house if it rains too hard. I called Steve and let him know that we were extremely displeased with our purchase and that for the price we paid, this shouldn't be happening. Price doesn't even matter, it was shoddy workmanship from the get and we were not happy. He said he would get it taken care of. It is now May 9th and I just today got a call from Joe, who I think is Steve's boss. Joe went out and looked at the door and determined that the entire thing needed to be replaced. Something failed somewhere along the line, and that's why this door is such a piece of junk. I don't know when it will be replaced, he's going to call me and we'll work it out. VERY LONG STORY SHORT: No one *expects* to hire a company and be met with nothing but problems. CB's reviews were good and although they were expensive, we were assured they were the best at what they do and that we would not be sorry. We absolutely *are* sorry, and if I could do it differently, I would not have gone with Custom Built. I will say that I'm pleased that they're replacing my door (presumably at no cost to me, although that has not been discussed). The salesman (whose name I've forgotten) was very courteous and obviously, very good at his job. The installation itself was a breeze. The door has not fallen off the house, and it still locks, opens and shuts when we need it to. I will update and revise this review after we get the new door.

I am giving two stars because I like the look of the windows and being able to see out my windows with no grids. However, I am very disappointed and feel let down. I paid a good amount of money to have all my windows in my house including the basement done. Installers left a cats paw under the back slider door in the frame sticking out, things plugged into the outside outlet, debris everywhere, sharp tools laying on the floor, ect. It then rained and soaked the tools and such outside. Then, they just didnt show up for awhile and finally did, but didnt ever do a final inspection with a walk around to show me how they work. When we had to pay the final bill, the guy from the company on the phone with my mom yelled at her and flipped out. We asked for a discount since we have to deal with some misfortunes through the project. Some of my windows dont lock still and I called three different times to ask someone to help me fix them, they said they'd call back and never did. When I originally met this company, i was at a trade show and they said they were doing a drawing for a free set of windows, when I asked about that I got a bunch of "I dont know" and never any concrete answer. One of the installers was making comments about my dog bc shes a pitty, he was stigmatic. I definitely wasnt treated right and I'm honestly kind of upset that I'm still having issues given the expense and aggravation.
