I don't take reviews lightly and l post them with careful consideration. I live in a small, older home. It needs a lot of repairs and as a widow on a fixed income l must choose my house projects carefully. When we built this house 30+ years ago it was built w/o gutters. I have always intended to get them but admittedly they were not a priority. Recently l put aside a small amount of money and decided to do repairs one at a time. I am pondering if selling might be the best choice since l find maintenance difficult now. I saw the commercial and thought a free estimate would help me determine if l could afford the gutters. I met Gary, their salesman, outside as he pulled into my drive. I was shocked. I found him to be rude and arrogant. As we conversed he told me he "just can't understand. So why now are you wanting the gutters." I explained l might be selling and l wanted to see a quote. He began picking paint chips from my porch, while asking me the same question "l mean l just don't understand. Why now after all this time". He walked to the back deck, told me (in a nutshell) what poor condition my home is in. After a quick look he proceeded to "Give free advice" as he put it, and told me l needed to decide what l was going to do, get gutters or not, and l needed to paint l couldnt believe he was just a salesman. He behaved as if he were a building inspector. At that point l began to feel he was there to criticize and had no interest in giving me a quote. Obviously he was unimpressed with my tiny, old house. As he stood there criticizing l spoke up and told him our appointment was over. I told him he was free to leave. As I walked away to go inside he yelled, " l came all this way out here for free. I gave you free advice (paint it!??). I did wait to calm down before calling the office to report his rude behavior. I never received a call back. I imagine they make enough money on bigger homes that the loss of my business is of no matter to them. It tells me they value the dollar but not decent customer service. What a disappointment. I'm telling everyone l know.
