We actually hired him to replace the shingles on the whole roof, re-build our patio cover to correct the pitch of same and remodel our master bath. I had hoped to give him a 5 star rating. Unfortunately that is impossible. He charged us tens of thousands to re-do our patio cover with the specific aim of correcting the pitch of the cover. When it was all said and done it was the same as before we started, which meant that the shingles he installed on the cover were not the proper material and did not at all accomplish our goal!! The installation of ridge vents, new shingles and new jacks should have been a breeze given the name of the contractor, but no. The work was so wrong that the manufacturer's warranty was void from the get go! Unbelievable. Exhaust fans were installed without being vented. They just blow into the attic! The shower floor is so uneven it does not drain properly, or at all in some places. I had to call another plumbing company out to try to fix the functioning of the shower. Th shoddiness of the tile installation overall is shocking. There is no where you can look and not see places where the spacing between tiles is uneven or places where the tiles are at different depths. If Double Horn had the expertise they claimed someone should have pointed out to us that the particular tile I had picked for the shower walls was going be difficult to install with a good fit and finish. If that conversation had been initiated by the "experts" that would have changed a huge part of our experience. They pieced the metal edging on a 5' high wall - the edging material comes in 8' lengths. Unacceptable.
Owner Johnny is very pleasant, and appears to be engaged with the job from start to finish , arriving onsite regularly to check in. However; he apparently employed a crew who didn’t have clue how to properly install a roof, use proper venting materials, or in some cases even bother to cut out vent holes when installing new roof. Barely three months following the install, the roof warranty was found to be void due to improper installation . Two independent roof inspectors have verified this statement. Johnny refuses to stand behind this work. Aside from the roof installation. Remodeling work on the master bathroom was also clearly done by an inexperienced crew. Details related to tile and drain placements, which were outlined before and during the work / install phase were completely ignored- and once again refused to be fixed by Johnny. In some case fixtures and materials were broken by the installation crew and never repaired. When these issues were escalated , Johnny’s response was to suggest the homeowner was being belligerent and he feared for the crew safety . Sorry, but any homeowner encountering these issues , especially given the financial commitment necessary for these types of home upgrades, has a right to be quite angered. Seeing how a company handles itself when something goes “wrong” says a lot about the character of that company and it’s owner/ leaders. Safe yourself the headache and find someone else to handle your roofing and remodel needs. I know I did!!
May First update, Just put a new roof on my house, Daniel Sanchez Job Cost Professionals Project Manager 281-901-9705 Johnny is a bad contractor 6-13-2019 thinks starting to fall apart that he did VERY POOR WORKMANSHIP. Johnny does not stand behind his work, he installed new roof and did he make some real mistakes, he is a thief, do not trust him. I have to take his roof off and have a new roof put on what he did wrong is not repairable. This man said he was a roofer, FUNNY No lies here. you blew smoke, your crews are afraid of me? wow they took my beer? You told me you did good work. you want to talk about the 3 days of waste with the trim board I had to buy twice. you want to talk about the puddles in my shower. you have turned my dream into a nightmare. And with the crap work you did you or your crew that you told me was your best team you picked up at a gas station somewhere are not welcome back. how about the substandard duct you used for my range vent. What about the exhaust fans you did not vent outside? How about the valley where the water runs the wrong way on my roof. I guess the cabinets are nice and my toilet flushes. What about the fan that clicks you told me that was a simple fix. NOT FIXED, Tire tracks in my yard. how many times did I have to ask nice to please don't park trucks in my yard?? Punch list you quit before job was done. YOU LEFT JOB UNFINISHED and whats up with taking my lights? WHY DID YOU LYE TO ME ABOUT BREAKING MY GLASS DOOR KNOB? WHO IS THE LYING NOW? And sanding the finish off my tile to blend it in? I would welcome anyone to come look at the bad work this guy did. Kind of funny he hates me but he sure grabbed up those checks from my wife. I HAVE A NEW ROOF COMPANY COMING NEXT WEEK REPLACE THE SUBSTANDARD JOB HE DID ON MY ROOF. Ron Hoffman
We had DoubleHorn Roofing take care of our roof after Harvey hit in 2017. He came out and gave a fair estimate that was comparable to others that I had gotten. His crew was there a few days after we decided to go with them and completed the job that day and did magnificent work. Owner was there supervising the workers throughout the day. I would highly recommend them.
Absolutely top notch, high quality, professional work done by this company. Johnny the owner stayed in constant contact with us after hurricane Harvey and was onsite EVERY SINGLE day during the rebuild from the hurricane damage (Flood) we received to my parents house. He went above and beyond several times even showing up for appointments that we could not be there for and spoke on our behalf. Quality work inside and out. Would not hesitate to recommend DoubleHorn to anyone needing repairs or looking for that dream house to build.
