Poor Customer Service. Savage Roofing repaired a 5’ x 5’ wind damaged section of a single family home in Anacortes. Response to my initial call was prompt and a roofer came to the house expeditiously. We discussed a cost and he estimated one hour of labor and total charges under $100. The roofer repaired the roof in 1 hour with three-tab singles I provided. ----- I received a invoice in the mail for 1.5 hours of labor and miscellaneous expenses (to include gas to my Anacortes house). Total charges, $136.60 with $28 Misc, 1.5 hr at $65 and tax. I called Savage roofing twice to inquire about 1.5 hours labor vice one hour, left messages and received a response several days later. The supervisor (I think) informed me he would look into it. He did quickly and notified me I was already receiving a discounted hourly rate due to the economy (maybe he thought he was doing me a favor by charging me a price the market would support), and the 0.5 extra labor charge over the 1 hour worked performed was for travel time. I was not informed of any travel charge when I set up the appointment, in the estimate, or prior to the bill. ----- I will not be using Savage Roofing again due to poor customer service. ----- PS. I used another roofer I Googled in Anacortes for the similar wind damage two weeks later, $75 and he provided the singles.
