We had a large extension project. We chose Paul because he seemed to be the right person for the job, and he was recommended to us. Turns out, ours was the biggest job he had ever taken on, and he couldn't manage it. Instead of coming clean to us and admitting he'd made a mistake, he just disappeared, leaving us with quite a lot to do. Other builders don't want to take it on, so we're having to do it ourselves, bringing in tradesmen when we can find a reputable one. In addition, he used tradesmen who did not do a good job, and we've had to re-do quite a bit. We're now at nearly 4 times the estimated time for the project.
