We hired ARC to repair and remodel multiple areas of our home in preparation of resale; they were very professional and courteous. All phases of the project were handled professionally and at a very competitive and fair price. I would definitely recommend ARC to my friends and family.
Dartanion and his crew did a wonderful job repainting the interior of our home! From start to finish they performed an excellent job. My home and family were treated with the utmost respect, I was always kept updated with scheduling and they finished on time and on budget. Thank you for a job well done!
Contacted and contracted to repair roofing. They came back once for warranty repair and when we asked them to come out again we were told, "we're not waiting around in our office for you to call". Gave lame excuses about waiting for it not to rain because of liability issues, and waiting for a "window" of dryness to get on the roof again when hours of "dry time" were available to come and inspect the roof. We were actually wanting a quote to fully replace the damaged area but were abruptly told they would issue a refund of material cost. Its hard to contact their office and they rarely return your phone call promptly.
Dartanion Combs (owner/contractor) American Residential Commercial (ARC) was initially a pleasure to deal with but we quickly learned that he’s a better salesman than contractor; lacking basic project management skills and unable to produce a clear plan for the six week ($20k) scope of work we hired him to complete. Dartanion and his crew would show up at 10am and leave around 3pm, if they showed up at all, going several weeks with only 25 hours or less onsite. When it became obvious the schedule was blown, they were full of excuses and demanded cash advances to bring in more resources, continually saying all was fine but still unable to produce or hold to any reliable action plan. Running several weeks late and only two days before we had to move in, they were only at 80% completion. After going round and round for days, we finally punched out the interior paint (gave up arguing the poor quality) and paid them a milestone payment. The day we move in ARC sends an email terminating the contract at 80% completion, having started all line items in the SOW with very few actually completed; leaving us now living in the house and making it much harder to tie up all the loose ends. Having lived in the house for about a month, we continue to find quality issues in the work performed by ARC. We are disappointed by their poor craftsmanship, inability to complete the project, and squandering the two full months we had the house empty and available for renovations... adding insult to injury with the damages to the new hardwood floors that they left us with (covering the floor proved too much to ask). BEWARE of Dartanion Combs and ARC; you won’t get your money’s worth and will be left with a headache from dealing with their delusional sense of industry standard quality and project management.
