UPDATED: Our home was hit by a tornado last September. The initial people we dealt from Division 7 were nice but were let go before the work started. The roofers they had at the time were sloppy, and they left nails every where, which we are still finding (and had 2 flat tires from). The siding guy was nice. He worked by himself, and it took him 3 weeks to complete, but stayed until it was finished, even though it was freezing outside. They replaced our siding, roof, screens on our windows, frame around our garage and some gutter work. Work was completed by February. I give them a 4 Star for the work that they did. It would have been nice to have better communication from them in regards to both things. The roof was rushed and a mess was left. The door bell never got replaced and wires were left sticking out of our house. My husband eventually replaced it. I only gave them a 4 star because of communication. It was varied at the beginning of this process, but it got better recently as they fixed a few things. We had some minor repairs but they DID come out and fix them. I was really impressed with the owner and his communication recently.
The owners LATEST RESPONSE is just more nonsense, he knows I am representing my partner, Doug Farley. Division 7 Building Resource Group, came to McGregor, Iowa, July 20, 2017, the day after McGregor was hit by a tornado. The residents of McGregor who signed a contract with BRG deeply regrets it. BRG promised quality products, timely and impeccable workmanship. It has been anything but those promises. The owner of BRG claims he has been in business for 10, 11 or 22 years, depending on which social media site, WordPress, Linkedin, etc.......I have read. Building Resource Group, LLC was formed Oct 2, 2007, dissolved, Aug 3, 2011 and reinstated May 15, 2016. The owner registered Building Resource Group with Iowa Workforce Development for the first and only time, March, 2017, as required by Iowa Law. If he has been in business for 22 years he has been in business illegally. Division 7, was formed May 11, 2017. This information is public record. An excerpt from his now deleted Word Press page, "Over the years Luke managed portfolios for large national clients such as bank of America, Jones Lang Lasalle, Toyota, Meijer, a billion dollar property development firm, as well as many others. Just one of his long tall tales. The work that has been started by non-employee's is pathetic and not finished. My partner emailed BRG asking if the workers were employee's. BRG's response was, “You have a reason?” and “Or just being difficult?” A Production/Quality Control employee and another person was at my friends rental, after my friend signed a Contingency Agreement with Building Resource Group. They put plastic on one of the four broken windows. The tenant cut the excess plastic off that was blowing in the wind. The employee introduced the person as his boss. The other person did not introduce himself as the owner. Afterwards, the owner and the employee sat and drank beer with the tenant. The charge for that one piece of plastic was $434.00. The same thing happened at my friends residence. The employee introducing the other person with him as his boss and again he did not introduce himself as the owner. They put three tarps his house, the porch, house and garage. The charge was over $1,900.00. The many broken window's were not covered. Anderson is holding thousands of dollars of McGregor residence money and is no where to be seen. I am not an internet troll! I received a cease and desist letter for defamation from his Attorney months ago. I sent his attorney a four page document showing his REAL credentials. A bankruptcy, and numerous entities gone by the wayside. I said I would be representing myself and would like a jury trial. Nothing has come or will come from their threat of litigation. There would be no denying fraudulent misrepresentation intending to deceive. As far as these five star reviews that are from his spouse, her girlfriends, an employee and his supplier. What a joke! To quote Frank Abagnale, Catch Me If You Can, "The law may sleep but it never dies". Even his attorney is his spouses girlfriend. McGregor residents were hoodwinked by his made up credentials. They claim their an established company. Established by some magic. My Partner put a review on BBB, the owners response was a lie. My partner signed one and only one construction contract and gave BRG 1/2 down. BRG is still holding thousands of dollars for unfinished work. Iowa Attorney General say's BEWARE of contractors from out of town, going door to door.
This is a good company, operated by good people. That's the simple truth. . I'll be honest, I saw a post from Division 7 on social media I didn't agree with, and harassed them for it. In return I received the warmest, most human response I could have imagined. I don't have the pleasure of living Iowa to hire this great company. But if you do, you absolutely should, because this a company of integrity.
We had wind and hail damage back in early 2016. Building Resource Group negotiated repairs with the insurance company and replaced all of the siding and roof. The transformation was amazing and the house looked absolutely beautiful. They have since been back to do numerous other small projects and are my trusted contractor. I would recommend them any day of the week!
Luke and the team are fantastic! I had heavy roof damage this past summer after storms through July last year. After the deductible, Division 7 worked out a deal with my insurance company, that ended up saving me a bunch of money. Plus helped increase my home value. They were timely, clean, and all around just good guys. Highly recommend!
