Awesome. Almost nobody works on old asbestos shingle rooves, but they did. A competitor quoted us 35 grand to tear off and redo our whole roof to fix a small leak. Bash Pepper was there in a couple of days, fixed the leak for almost nothing (it was within reach from the edge, so he didn't even have to get on the roof) and was absolutely the most pleasant service professional I have ever spoken to. Every few years, you meet someone who gives you a customer service experience that you will remember for the rest of your life. Today was one of those days.
A storm had ripped off some shingles from the roof and I could see the water starting to drip onto the ceiling. The attic space was so small I couldn’t get up there to put a bucket. Of course nobody was open on a Saturday afternoon. Cord came out and did an excellent job temporarily stopping this until his team could come Monday morning. I will use his company from now on!
Do the research: Bash and Pepper deserves a 500 star review! Proven, in business since 1917. Honest. I decided to get 5 estimates for a roof issue. 4 local roof companies told me I needed a brand new, tear off roof. They would not repair. Those estimates were 10K-15K. Bash and Pepper said for $500 they could do a repair that would get me 5-10 more years life out of the roof! Needless to say, I went for it. That roofer that did the job had over 25 years experience. Its been over 8 years now...and the roof is has had no issues. Bash and Pepper does quality roofing at an affordable price! Better Business Bureau A+ rating.
We had them put a roof on five years ago. They were great when we were buying the roof from them. Recently we found out that the roof has been leaking but it did not come into the home until this recent long rainy season. When the water started to come in to the house we climed in the attic and found the sub roof was moldy and the insulation was moldy. It has been leaking for a while. We called them but they would not call us back. We repeatedly tried again and again it took almost a month before we finally talked to someone about it he said he would come out but never did. Finally we called another company. They found that when the new roof was put on that they used the old flashing and that was where it was leaking. Sad to leave a bad review but I appreciate people being honest. A roof is a major purchase . You can tell the integrity of a company by how they handle problems. We gave them every chance to come look at it. The least they could have done was tell us they were too busy to look at it.
I just recently bought a house in Urbana and within the first week my roof started leaking from a skylight area. I called four different companies. Bash Pepper Roofing was the only one to answer without a voicemail and they had someone out to look at it the same day. Their customer service is amazing and I would recommend them to anyone in the future.
