It was a pleasure doing business with Garcia Roofing on a large custom copper awning. The project manager Marittza was instrumental in guiding the project through design, fabrication, and installation. A professional outcome from a talented and dedicated group of artisans. Tanks again.
My new roof is amazing! Professional and knowledgeable in all areas from the people in the field, the workers and the in office staff. Highly highly recommend !
The roofing company, which originally replaced the shingles on the older home we purchased, failed to replace any of the rusted valleys or repair or make water resistant any of those places where the roof abutted the wood on the second floor. For over two years, we were dealing with various leaks in our attic as well damage to our first and second floor levels. On the advice of a contractor friend, we contacted Garcia roofing for the roof leaking issues. Garcia's Roofing sent out a expert, Mr. Miguel, to assess the problem and give us an estimate for repairing all the trouble spots on our roof. Mr. Miguel's assessment was right on target and in line with what our contractor friend was advising us we should do to end the dreaded roof leaking problems. Garcia Roofing has been in business many years and the company prides itself on proper roof installation, customer service and customer satisfaction. Shortly after we signed our contract, Garcia Roofing sent out 2 men, Mr. Carlos and Mr. Hosea, who while they did not speak fluid English, both men were courteous, always smiling, apparently extremely very experienced and extremely hard working roofers. The men worked long hours and were always attending to details. The carpentry and roofing work was excellent and that of craftsman who left the appearance of our home far better than when we originally purchased our home. Garcia has a Project Manager appointed for each job. Ms. Marittiza's was an experienced and competent manager who was always available and who responded fully to our questions and who arranged the work schedule around what was going on with us at the time. We were comfortable with both men around our home and we soon understood that Ms. Marittiza and two roofers were an efficient well trained team taking care of our roofing job. We cannot heap enough praise on Garcia Roofing's team of folks who came in and took care of our roofing issues. Garcia Roofing is the company we recommend as the top roofing company in Baton Rouge. Thank you Garcia Roofing. Thank you Mr. Miguel, Ms. Marittiza, Mr. Carlos and Mr. Hosea for meeting all our expectations. We are especially pleased with the outcome, with the cost of the work and with the warranty. Dr. and Mrs. James W. Robinson, Oak Hills, Baton Rouge, LA.
Please read!! Terrible experience all the way through. The salesman David Winge said Garcia roofing was the highest quality company and hand nailed every shingle with six nails, so I went with them even though they were one of the higher priced companies. If this was true then it would have been a great experience. That’s where the plesentrys ended. First we were told to write a postdated check to “hold our place” until the insurance checks were deposited, instead they deposited the postdated check the next day. That should have been a sign of things to come and I should have walked then. David then assured me it was a small accounting error and promised a credit for the trouble, so I kept going. I was told the job would be completed in one day. I asked that our flower beds and water fountain be covered. I was told that wouldn’t be a problem. I was also promised an English speaking rep on site to voice concerns. When the crew got there I was immediately told it would be two days. Afterward told me they had nothing to cover flowerbeds etc. with. I lent them my tarps and helped them cover the areas I was concerned withThe rep who was supposed to be the go between hadn’t shown up yet and the dumpster that was supposed to be there wasn’t so they threw the stripped material in my yard. When the rep got there with tarps after the roof was mostly stripped, I showed him how a few of the materials that were supposed to be ordered weren’t there. He went to go get those missing items and that was the last time I saw him over the course of the two days. He didn’t even get everything needed to complete the job in the end and the crew just used the stuff that was suposed to be replaced and painted it! The crew then roughly comunicated they had no screw gun to take the satellite off of the roof. I thought I was offering the use of mine but they pointed to the roof and were motioning me to do it for them. I thought that was strange. I reluctantly climbed on the roof and did it for them. Then things got really bad, the crew barely finished a third of the roof on the first day and told me they would bring an additional guy the next morning. The one thing they did do was hand nail every shingle with six nails. That’s all that was good. They did sloppy work with crooked caps and extremely uneven valleys. I also observed them cutting the underlayment short and using small cuts of scrap as ineffective improperly installed patches. We also discovered that the underlayment was tucked under the drip edge!! This could be prevented by googling “roofing basics”. The water was then poised to flow into the new decking! The site rep Darren never showed up to see the final result. When I complained, he tried to tell me that’s what it was supposed to look like. After talking with David the sales rep he at least agreed that the work was unacceptable and should be re done in the areas I was concerned with. A new crew came out to fix the roof that had just been installed. They were much much better! But it was still like pulling teeth to get them to address all of the issues. After two more days of work on my roof (all the while my poor wife was inside with our infant daughter not able to nap for four days instead of the one as promised). I do have to say that the roof looks good. It should have never taken as much effort as it did. Now I have a repaired brand new roof! This won’t last as long as one put on correctly the first time. Some of the caps were broken when repairs were being done so now my brand new roof has shingles that are broken and glued together. I’m so disappointed with this company. Of course at the end of this fiasco the billing was wrong. Amazing! There was even more that I didn’t include in this novel, cause I’ll be surprised if anyone actually gets to the end of this review! The long short is RUN AWAY! Btw they say they have a Metairie address, they don’t...pay for the course.
I was extremely pleased with the professionalism from the office staff to the roofers. The roofers efficiency and the quality of their workmanship is impeccable. I love the fact that the roof was replaced with old-fashioned craftsmanship where the shingles were hand-nailed. When I need another roof replaced, I will, without a doubt, use Garcia Roofing again.
