We just completed a second roofing/gutters project with Achtens Quality Roofing, this time on Whidbey Island. It was a splendid experience -- exactly like the home roofing project we had done here in Seattle 5 or 6 years ago. I’m so glad I reached out to them to see if they would come all the way up to Whidbey Island to help us out. We were astounded by the quality of their products, guarantees, advice and service the first time — and we still are. To say nothing of the great crews: In some difficult January weather they worked with complete focus until the job was done while providing quality workmanship and expertise every step of the way. If we had any more roofs and gutters to install, we would call Achtens Quality Roofing in a heartbeat. I’ve recommended them to my friends before and will certainly continue to do so. Called to get an estimate for a roof replacement for a new prospective buyer of a commercial property building in Redmond. The person I spoke to on behalf of the company first assumed I was a real estate agent and refused to give me the opportunity for a quote stating they only work with sellers. Secondly, this person never gave me the opportunity to explain circumstances and just kept talking over me as if I was being scalded, providing explanations of why they wouldn’t even consider my client as ‘Worthy of their time’. Very snooty attitude and poor customer service was received from my point of view! As a person who has worked hard to build a business reputation on great customer service, I’m to say the least disappointed. There are many other commercial roofing companies that are more ‘Worthy’ of your business.

Knowing that our roof was in need of replacing, We began the process of obtaining bids and learning what was involved with replacing a roof properly. Achten's was not our first bid nor our last one. Total, we had 5 different bids. Our final decision to go with Achten's was based on the honesty of the information that Dave (Achten's representative) provided to us regarding requirements to do the job correctly. Several roofers insisted that we were required to use a ridge vent when in reality, it was not possible to install correctly on our manufactured home. Another roofer recommended the wrong type of shingles for our manufactured home which would have nullified the warranty. As we went through the process of learning and obtaining bids, more questions were generated, and Dave made himself available to help us understand facts versus fiction. The work crew proved themselves to be extremely knowledgeable and professional. As they were doing the work and identified dry rot and damaged decking, they were speedy to bring these items to my attention. At that time, I, personally, went up on the roof to inspect their quality work as well as the age damage to the roof. Overall, the quality of the job exceeded our expectations. Excellent job of the crew for clean up and removal of debris. The roof looks GREAT!!!!

From the moment we called Achten's Quality Roofing for a bid, we were impressed! The project manager was great to work with. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. He kept us up to date during the whole process. The crew that arrived to remove the old roof and put on our new roof was nothing short of fabulous. The arrived on time, worked hard the entire time and cleaned everything up before they left each day. My roof looks amazing! Achten's recently re-roofed our house in Lake Hills. We were very pleased with the work and the customer service. - Estimate was wonderfully detailed, with lots of pictures and observations - Scheduling took a bit (you must be busy, or something!), but they hit their forecasted window, and showed up as soon as weather allowed - BIG crew took care of the job quickly and efficiently. Nobody was standing around waiting for instructions. - Unanticipated finds (delaminated under-code plywood) quickly handled - Cleanup thorough and well done, double-checked by the project manager after the job was completed. - My family in the house was pleased and surprised that Achten provided a porta-potty for the crew, avoiding half a zillion trips in the house required otherwise. - Results look good!
