Did some work on my roof about 12 months ago and I was really impressed with the care that was taken and the quality of the workmanship. I've had no issues since. Its sadly rare to find workmen who take so much pride in their job these days, so this was really nice. Not the cheapest, but another roofer gave me a quote for loads of work which was not necessary, so I felt looked after and like they weren't trying to rip me off, just getting themselves a good price for a fair amount of work. Would recommend to a friend.

I got Warkton roofing to come out and look at a leak in the Chimney. They came by and had a look and gave me a quote. This was around £200 which I was suppose was reasonable. I just wanted the leak fixed! They came by and did the repair and that was that. Anyhow a few months later I went up into the attic when it was raining and unfortunately the chimney was still leaking in the same place. Contacted Warkton and they came by and did some more work when I wasn't there for free which is fair. Of course this summer was dry and I only noticed a few weeks ago that the chimney was still leaking in the same place! Warkton came out again and I showed the roofer- who was really nice- a video of the leak. He went around the outside and had a look. He then said he believed it was potentially the rendering at the side of the house that was responsible for the leak and that Warkton did not do rendering. He said Warkton would let me know what the next step was. I then did not hear back from then. When I contacted them they said that it was not something they could do. I Asked for a refund and was told no on the basis that their work is not guaranteed and that they had carried out the work that I agreed to. This of course is correct- they did carry out the work I agreed to. However I only agreed to the work on the basis that they being the Roofing experts had correctly identified the source of the leak. In this case they did not. So I must give them a 1 star on the simple basis that I am £200 down and still have a leaky roof.

We have two Victorian workshops at the bottom of the garden that were in need of some TLC. Warkton roofing did a great job of stripping off the old tiles and battens, taking away all the mess, cleaning the area then felting and re-tiling both sheds. They even ensured that the poor state of the roofs either side would not affect our own when they deteriorate. They tidied up after themselves, removing all excess materials and mess, started and finished when they said they would, and were careful not to squash my prized rhubarb! It was initially a little difficult to arrange a date for the work to be carried out, but we understood that the recent bad weather had created a lot of work that was keeping them busy. We’re just happy to have got the work done before the rains returned!

I would like to say that David J was very lucky not to get Warkton roofing to come out. I had them to take some render off a wall under what they said was a leaking gutter and to clean the gutter out. The cost was £384 which I thought fair enough because the wall under the gutter was probably soaking wet. When the workmen eventually turned up at mid day they took the render off and cleaned the gutter out. The wall was actually bone dry so there was no leak or blockage in the gutter. The workmen were at my house for just over ONE hour which meant that the hourly rate unless I am mistaken is well in excess of £300 per hour. Having written to the company to ask if they thought the cost excessive they replied with a letter the tone of which to me appeared that customer satisfaction was not important to them. In future I will either do jobs like this myself or employ a company that has been recommended.
