Eric was great. Our home and garage were damaged from the 5/15/18 macroburst storm that hit our region. We had a very large Oak tree landed on the garage splitting roof rafters. Two more trees hit our house damaging the roof and gutters. Eric came out and met with my insurance adjuster and their roof inspector to ensure that we got the entire roof on the garage and house replaced, not the patch job that the insurance company wanted to pay for. Eric and his crew did a fantastic job! They were worked quickly and took great care not to damage any of my landscaping. They also did a very thorough clean up as job progressed. I would highly recommend Boss roofing.
Verbally aggressive! Asked #BossRoofing to fix mistakes & the owner began an irate shouting tirade at myself & 8mo pregnate wife. She cried afterwards!! We received quotes from 3 roofers; but what set #BossRoofing apart from others was he designated himself as a GAF Certified Contractor. He advertised on the #BossRoofing website GAF Certified Contractor, texted us that he only uses GAF materials (also was written on the contract) & was offering a lifetime warranty on the shingles (Only GAF Contractors can offer). On the first day of the roof rip/install there were 5 guys, which I found out afterwards, were drinking Coors light all day. The second day only 2/5 showed up for work. #BossRoofing made the 2 guys work from 7am until 9pm to finish the job. Since the job was rushed - the roof has bumps, damaged shingles & inconsistencies. Two days after the roof install, we had water pouring into our kitchen from a storm. We texted #BossRoofing & he replied that he’s on a 3-week vacation. He sent his sub over & he patched it up with duct tape. The next storm we had more water pouring into our kitchen. He sent his sub again, who re-installed the roof shingles. It has not leaked since, but our oak cabinets/kitchen ceiling has water damage. We were quoted $800 to paint the kitchen ceiling. We specifically asked about installing ice/water shield behind the base layer of the siding. #BossRoofing said he would do the install; but it was only installed 1/3 areas & was installed incorrectly. He would not fix. The original drip edge was left in place & was taken down in other areas without being reinstalled. The rake edge was not installed. He would not fix. A roof vent was painted on the roof & sprayed paint onto the other shingles. He did fix after asking. We specifically asked to purchase only GAF products. He said he would, but only 30% of the materials were GAF. GAF offers a lifetime warranty if 3 or more GAF products are installed. He used generic ice/water shield & a generic ridge vent, so we were not eligible for the warranty. #BossRoofing said he would include gutters with the roof installation, but defaulted at the end of the job. He sent McCarthy Aluminum who quoted gutters at 3x the price. The Skylight price increased $300 after installation. The Skylight wiring was left exposed -did fix after asking. When the #BossRoofing crew left our house, we had 2 damaged screens (he paid for 1/2), a broken exterior light, scratched car (he did get it fixed), scratched/damaged decking, scratched stone walkway from dragging ladders, & beer caps littered on the lawn. After the job was "completed," we had one of the workers come to our house asking for Eric's number, because he hasn't been paid in weeks. I asked #BossRoofing for the roof warranty 4x, then received a shingle registration card in our mailbox – not a warranty! We have to pay for another roofer to install the ice/water shield & rake edge, hire someone for gutters, & pay for the repairs to the kitchen. We gave #BossRoofing plenty of time to address these issues, but after he was so verbally aggressive towards us we have moved on. Beyond Awful!! *June 2019 Update* We contacted GAF Roofing & they stated #BossRoofing was using fraudulent credentials & is not part of the GAF Certified Contractor Program. We contacted the Better Business Bureau, but #BossRoofing only replied once to a 5 month investigation with incorrect information. During this time we discovered that #BossRoofing severely damaged plywood in our attic removing the shingles & papered over it with ice/water shield. Any branch that falls on that spot will go into our attic. We also had another leak in the family room, which we had to pay another roofer to fix & was quoted $2,000 to paint the family room ceiling. BBB closed our complaint without any resolution. We then contacted the Dept of Consumer Protection & are now in the 5th month of their investigation. We had to finalize the roof building permit with the town, but it has failed 2 inspections & the current status of our roof is failed.
Eric is very diligent and committed to his work and his performance was outstanding. I highly recommend him and his company.
