Quality work guaranteed at a very reasonable cost. Been in business for many years. Highly recommended.
Excellent service. Very reasonable quote and carried out the work quickly and efficiently, tidying up afterwards. Told me approximately when they would be starting but understood that they would start when there was a break in the weather. Would highly recommend.
They carried out work without making an appointment (entering my garden without anyone being home), did an AWFUL job, the slates didn't fit and they left a mess behind with smashed tiles on the floor. They also broke several more of my roof tiles and caused one to stick out when it wasn't before! (the broken tiles on the room were because they didn't use scaffolding (as quoted) but instead SAT on my roof breaking the other tiles). They basically 'fitted my job in on the way home and it showed!!!) When I called to complain the owner offered terrible customer service and no apology - I offered to send them photos of the damage and the state my garden was left in and they still didn't accept that their work was bad. I still have the photos so whatever they reply to this - my review is fact. They returned to repair (roofers were polite, unlike the office staff), but the overall I found this company HUGELY unprofessional and unpleasant to work with. I wouldn't book them again even if it was free !!!! Be warned. There are better companies out there who charge the same or less.
Avoid. A catalogue of disasters. Original quotation was accepted in Spring 2015 but I received no acknowledgement that my acceptance had been received or that the job was booked in. I had to phone to chase and was told that it had indeed been booked in and would be started in late Summer. I then received a phone call from Paul Brookfield, the owner, saying that the job would be starting in October and that the scaffolders would be in touch to arrange a convenient time to come. No such call came, they simply turned up unannounced and started erecting the scaffold. Work then started which was pitifully slow. In fairness to the roofers, they did do a very good job when they were actually working, however I've never seen workmen spend so long sitting in their van and not working. They used to turn up at 07:45 and sit around in the van until 08:30 before starting. What a waste of time! Within the first few days of starting they removed a section of tiles before going home and leaving the roof exposed. Rain was forecast and the inevitable happened. Water poured in and soaked a blind, the carpet and paintwork. They did offer to pay for the damage and came straight away to make the job watertight, but this should never have happened in the first place. Thereafter things picked up for a while. The workmen were quite friendly and did what they could to help, going out of their way to mend some previously broken tiles. When the job was finished we were very pleased with the quality of the work, but it was a painful process getting there. But that's not the end... The scaffolding was simply left in place, together with all the mess, dusty windows, etc, that accompanies it. After speaking again to Paul Brookfield, three weeks after the job was finished, a scaffolder turned up and removed the boards and hand rails, but left the rest in place saying that a gang would return the next day to remove it. We moved cars and prepared for the scaffolders the following day, and the day after that, but, you guessed it, nobody came. I'm still looking at scaffolding as I write this. Then this week we received the bill. It was DOUBLE the original estimate. I immediately wrote an email to Paul Brookfield attaching his original estimate and requesting that he reissue the bill in the correct amount. So far I've heard nothing from him, no acknowledgement that he has at least received the email. I've left a voice message too as he didn't answer the phone. And throughout this entire process Mr Brookfield hasn't once been to see the job. He came to quote in the Spring and we've not seen him since. For a small, local contractor, this is frankly disgraceful, particularly as the job went so badly wrong to start with. In summary, I definitely do not recommend appointing P&B Roofing. Some of the individual workmen were very good, but my advice to them would be to set up on their own and get as far away from this firm as possible.
