I called this company asking for estimates on 2 jobs here in Riverside. Jim is the owner and claims he does all the work himself, that's understandable, most of the local contractors I've done business with are small companies and I have had great experiences. I needed an estimate on some repairs on a town-home's leaky garage roof, and a bid for a 2 years certification VS New roof on a single family residence. When the roofer inspected the homes he gave me verbal estimates over the phone. I asked him to send me these estimates in writing to my email, he replied the best he can do is send it to a fax number...I gave him the benefit of the doubt, some business owners are taking their sweet time to catch up with technology nowadays. When I asked him to send me 3 separate estimates (1. garage repairs on the town-home. 2. Roof certification and repairs on the Single Family Residence. 3. New roof on the Single Family Residence) he responsed "I can't do that, that's too much work, I can't help you." He must be so busy and making so much money that he's turning down 2 major jobs, just because he won't invest the few minutes it takes to write up the bids and fax them. I represent multiple real estate investors who need written estimates in order to approve the work. It's a shame that local contractors such as Jim, won't invest the time to provide good customer service and secure new business. If he thinks putting an estimate in writing is "too much work", I would highly question his work quality when the time comes to get the work done, and it's literally "too much work" to be done. I would suggest to stay away from these type of contractors.
