Did good on some things, not good on others. Hired to take over a complete home remodel. Installation on our kitchen cabinets was lacking detail. Tiled our bathroom crooked due to crooked shower curb they installed, blamed it on previous contractor although previous contractor had nothing to do with the curb. Worst part is the driveway. $14k we paid them for a concrete driveway. Less than a year old it looked horrible, pitted all over and cracked in 5 different locations. Asked for help fixing the issues, was told that I should call the concrete company his sub used. That seemed rather unprofessional. Overall I would look elsewhere. Lots of talk of how everything is done right but it really wasn’t. (REPLY TO COMMENT BELOW) Since it doesn't seem to allow me to reply to your comments below, I will do so here. We paid you to manage the cabinet company. I asked about a large gap on one side of one of the cabinets and you stated that spline should be used to cover it. You also stated the cabinet company should have supplied the spline but didn't. We paid you to manage the cabinet company, and you blamed them for not supplying the right material. You being the manager of the project should have got the spline, yet I still have a large gap. The curb you installed isn't square to any wall, so I disagree with your comment. I'd be happy to show you the crooked work. If you call larger than quarter size pits all over the driveway "minor", we will have to agree to disagree. There are 4 other concrete driveways in my neighborhood much older than mine with zero pits and zero cracks. No class 5 laid down prior, no real prep. Poorly done driveway. And through our correspondence I provided proof of our conversations about the driveway 9 months after install, not 2 years. At least be honest about that.
I have used Metro Construction at least 5 times on 3 different homes for roofing, interior painting, tile flooring, refinishing wood floors, construction of an outdoor storage shed that matched the look of the house all in Prior Lake, MN. I also had them do an almost complete demolition of an old condo and remodeled it to a new contemporary look with a complete new kitchen, 2 new bathrooms, all new flooring, complete paint and more. I sold the unit after he remodeled it for a cool $18000 profit after all the construction expenses were paid. On another house they did backsplash and under cabinet lighting. Beautiful work! I am just impressed constantly with the owner, Mark Sowers', knowledge of materials and how to predict outcomes of remodeling old out of date homes in a way that creates value and equity along with unique beauty from quality work and selection of the right materials. That takes years of experience to obtain. I would absolutely recommend Metro construction!!
I've contracted with metro for the past five years. Very professional and easy to work with.
