My computer just ate a long post about my experience with Timber Roofing. Maybe I'll rewrite it later. Bottom line... It is a good idea to consider this company. I am very picky. They did an amazing job. Maybe not the cheapest, however in ten years what matters? (plus it has a 50 year warranty) My house looks better then is ever did, ever the neighbors have commented on it. Everything from the sale to the post installation wrap up exceeded my expectations. I got exactly what I wanted, down to the smallest detail. I had a major job done on my roof and I smile every time I come home because I find no flaws. These folks are true professionals and it shows.
So, we had our roof done this last spring. Timber was prompt about getting out to give us an estimate and began work quickly. As someone with previous roofing experience I felt comfortable with them and was happy to see that they seemed to be quick, efficient and on their game.. Well fast forward over a year later several of my gutters are leaking because the gutters were not properly refitted. The front of my house leaks water between the gutters, and when they put the shingles together on the front pitch they didn't actually secure the shingles all the ways down ( you can see space between the shingles and the roof). When it rains hard I have an actual waterfall pouring all over my porch and stairs, which ruined the covered outdoor carpeting from being wet for weeks at time.. Because I understand that they are busy and in Washington ( I'm in Salem) everytime I've called and requested the waterfall in the front of my house be fixed I would give them time. We'll three appointments and three failed appearances later no one has shown up. I could go on about how I've had to go up and unseat the entire gutter system on the front of the house and correct the pitch and many other things. But, I think we all get the point.. If you use Timber, watch them. And don't let them leave until you are 100% satisfied. Otherwise, you could be SOL too.. I will say this, the receptionist is probably one of the nicest women I've ever spoken with.. Oh, and one last thing who does roofs and doesn't know anything about gutters? SMH.. Seriously disappointed..
I called and asked if they were able to do a roof repair on a section of my roof 2 weeks before my closing date to sell my home. The receptionist checked with the project manager, and after asking for my address and learning I live close by their office, he gave approval. The next day they sent a friendly man out to take pictures of my roof. He told me that he would show the pictures to the project manager and have him call me with an estimate. I waited a day and didn't hear back, so I called and asked. I called the next day, and the next day, and the next day...you get the point. After a week of calling at least once a day, I finally got a response: The receptionist informed me that their project manager said they don't do roof repairs. That was the very first question that I had asked when I called them. Very disappointed that they did not communicate better, that they didn't follow through with what they had originally told me regarding whether or not they do repairs, and that I was pushed to the last minute to find someone else to complete the job.
They sold us 6 replacement windows in the summer of 2012. 1. The big windows are still difficult to open (they promised that they would "loosen up" after the first year. 2. The burglar stops on 4 of the windows have broken 3. The thermopane seal has failed on 2 windows I called twice last summer to have them fix these problems - the second time I spoke directly with the manager. No action whatsover. We actually like the windows - the after-sale service stinks.
