Good family business they stand behind there work

The company was on it to GET the job. We had a complete re-roof. Emails shot back and forth at the speed of light. The crew that did the job was AWESOME. They were here like clock work at 730am and worked until nearly dark the first day...finished, cleaned up and were outta here the next day. Roof is beautiful. I think, though, they are sub contractors..in FL because of Irma...Im just taking a wild guess here 😎 The reason I give only 3 stars is the way the owner(s) handled it when a problem came up. After the first day of roofing, they were halfway finished...it rained really hard and we got a leak. It ruined some of my Moms old cookbooks and some other things, It did upset me but I didn't say anything about that stuff. I was very concerned, however, about my laptop..it had been soaking in a pool of water for some time. I took lots of pictures a short video and sent it to them. No more speed of light return email...Image that?? I waited for my laptop to dry out and turned it on. It seemed ok so I emailed and said not to worry, I think everything will be OK. Mysteriously, now he is back to having access to his email. Sorry, NO ONE is away from their "email" nowadays. He simply said "ill tell the crew about it". That was it. My husband fixed the leak, I did the inside clean up and I had to put 3 coats of Kilz on the inside drywall to cover up the water stains. The owner did show up, however, at the speed of light to get the check for the job...no kidding, within an hour of them finishing he was at my front door with his hand out. NEVER EVEN ASKED ABOUT THE LEAK. DID NOT OFFER TO LOOK AT THE DAMAGE, NOTHING. I was waiting for him to say something and he didn't, he grabbed the check and started to walk away. I said, "oh ya, did you get the email about the roof leaking" .. he says "that was my son, let us know if anything comes out of it". Unconcerned about the roof leak or any damage it caused..very concerned about getting his money. All he had to do was, what I consider, "good business" and email me back in the first place, show SOME KIND OF CONCERN for the customer...not just the customers money.
